Anti Vibration Mounts FAQs
How to install anti vibration mounts?
When installing your anti vibration mount, you should first clean the surface you will be securing it to. Fasten the AVM to the equipment in the desired position, you can use bolts to do this. Ensure you do not over tighten the screws as this may negatively impact the mounts performance.
Where are anti vibration mounts used?
Anti vibration mounts are often used to reduce noise and vibrations in heavy machinery and equipment in the agriculture, defence, industrial, aerospace, construction, rail, energy and power, automotive, and marine industries.
What types of anti vibration mounts do Metrol sell?
Anti vibration bobbins – use durable rubber elements to effectively remove harmful forces, therefore protecting your machinery. The rubber material can resist harsh environmental factors including heat, oils, and various chemicals. Because of this, they are considered to be a failsafe component.
Anti vibration stop buffers – reduce the risk of possible damaging collisions from happening with machinery parts. These buffers effectively resist any impact from heat and chemicals due to their metal and rubber makeup.
Anti vibration mount truck buffers – decrease detrimental vibrations with their cuboid/trapezoid build. Made from both steel and rubber, truck buffers successfully resist heat and chemicals, meaning their performance is unrivalled in the industrial environment. Not only this, but they are an extremely economical and long-lasting product.
Captive flange mounts – the square/ oval designs made from metal and rubber resist damaging factors and deliver exceptional performance with easy installation. Captive flange mounts stop unnecessary movement from happening and decrease vibrations by up to 95%.
How do anti vibration mounts work?
They reduce noises and vibrations by absorbing the kinetic energy produced, therefore preventing it from spreading outside of the machine.
What are the benefits of using Anti-vibration mounts?
Anti vibration mounts can deliver several benefits. To start, by reducing the noise and vibrations produced, a less distracting working environment is achieved. Not only that, but this will contribute to your machinery and equipment lasting for longer with reduced maintenance, as less vibrations means less stress is put onto the application. By lowering vibrations, machinery can precisely operate – at Metrol we use AVMs for our own CNC machines, which helps us in the manufacturing of exceptional quality products.
What are anti vibration mounts?
Metrol’s anti-vibration mounts are an effective way to dampen the vibrations and noise that heavy machinery/equipment produces.
