NitroSprings are a truly revolutionary compression spring for the industrial market. Generating high forces in an ultra compact space, the NitroSpring provides the design engineer with a whole new level of possibilities. In fact, the NitroSpring has far more advantages, no preload is needed to reach the force that you require at the start of the spring travel, the force is available on contact. This further reduces the space required, and even if you are looking for a long travel on a spring, NitroSpring models can be supplied with a travel up to 200mm from stock.

Rod Diameter – This refers to the exterior dimension of the rod.
Body Diameter – This is the exterior dimension of the body; it is important that this fits into your application.
Stroke Lengths – The length of the usable stroke.
Threads – Threads are at either end of the gas spring and they attach onto end fittings. The end fitting can be part of the product itself if you do not want a thread. Different threads will be suitable for different end fittings.
Force Range – In variable NitroSprings, you can adjust the pressure to your desired force. Therefore, if you ordered a spring with a force range of 300N – 5000N, it would arrive charged to 5000N and you could reduce it anywhere down to 300N.
Force Progression – This refers to a NitroSpring becoming harder to compress the more you push it down. The higher the force progression, the harder it will be to fully compress it.
Extension Speed – This is how quickly the NitroSpring returns to its full extended length after being compressed.
Working Temperature Range – NitroSprings can perform in temperatures between -30 - 80°C.
Rod Material & Body Finish – This is important to consider to ensure your NitroSpring has the correct material and finish to perform under the conditions it will be exposed to.
Guarantee – Metrol offer a 2-year guarantee against manufacturing defects.
The various features available to this range offers the perfect solution; from advanced sealing systems that provide ultimate durability, to the versatility of being able to accurately adjust gas spring force in situ. Not to mention, our full service, including design, application consultancy, and prototyping means we provide more than just a product.
NitroSprings provide a high force, compact solution. Up to 275% more force than wire springs with similar dimensions.

Force on contact means no preload on assembly and ultimately, a more compact spring.
You can adjust the force in a NitroSpring by simply altering the pressure.
Especially useful when prototyping or you have an application that can use the same type of spring, but requires different forces.

NitroSprings can be mounted in a variety of ways, including stock clamps, threaded holes, or simply dropping into a drilled pocket.
