Gas Strut Manufacturing

GAS STRUT MANUFACTURING AT METROL

Manufacturing capacities

Low-Medium volume

Specialising in low to medium volume gas strut manufacturing, from simple custom lengths, to more complex specialised products, our flexible manufacturing system ensures on time deliveries.

High volume

High volume production is carried out in our Lesjofors group facility, dedicated to serial production. The modern factory has a high level of automation from material processing and machining right through the assembly and finishing processes. This enables us to provide the right cost effective solution for high volumes.

Our Northampton facility

At our facility in Northampton, we handle R&D, design, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.

Manufacturing is at the heart of our operation, focusing on rapid prototyping, and low to medium volume production. This provides Metrol with the ability to produce custom gas strut solutions with short lead times.

Prototyping

Rapid prototyping allows us to move from design to in-house test and validation before application testing. This reduces the time from concept to customer approval and production supply.

Processing

Stock or custom gas struts, the final delivery is usually an assembly.

Before shipping, our gas struts are charged and tested, end fittings assembled, accessories picked and packed. Our digital systems ensure orders are processed in sequence according to customer required dates.

Supply

Metrol has the capability to supply anything from a single gas strut to hundreds of thousands of units. With a combination of pallet storage, automated vertical storage systems, and efficient e-commerce and pallet-based shipping processes, our logistics operation is designed to ensure every customer order is picked, packed, and dispatched correctly and on time.

Working closely with our customers, we also offer stock call-off agreements to ensure parts are always available for immediate dispatch.

This provides significant advantages, including:

  • Reduced capital tied up in customer stock

  • Scheduled deliveries to align with production dates

  • Next-day delivery availability when required

  • Inventory management to prevent stock shortages

  • Consolidated shipments that reduce overall freight costs

Our Customers

Our diverse customer base ranges from OEM manufacturers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and fabricators, through to small businesses and e-commerce companies.

Our operations are structured to ensure every order—regardless of size or complexity—is delivered on time, with customer satisfaction as our ultimate priority.
