Mailing Lists
When signing up to receive our weekly updates, we will request your first and last name and your email address. We will use this information to send you these updates and occasionally to check with you if the information is still valid and correct. The information gathered (your first name, last name and email address) is not sold, rented or traded with other businesses or organisations.
To send our weekly updates we use a third party service provider called MailChimp. We gather information about who opens our emails, location by country of the person who opens the email, who clicks on which links within the emails, and how many times the emails are opened and clicked on. Accounts
When you sign up for an account on our website, the data we request is stored for the purpose of allowing you to experience a faster checkout. We may use your name, email address and phone number if we need to get in touch with you regarding an order you have placed with us or your account. You can login into your account to change the information you have stored on our website or to close your account at any time.
If you decide not to set up an account, your data is still stored in the form of your customer order.
Regardless of whether an account has been set up by law we have to retain customer orders for 7 years. Every 2 years this order information is archived and moved to a secure location. After 5 years this information is then destroyed.
Account information is stored indefinitely until the account is closed.
Purchasing
If you make a purchase through our website, your payment will be processed through a payment gateway and as such any card data is processed off site by a secure payment service provider. The payment gateway we use is by SagePay, you can find more information here: https://www.sagepay.co.uk
Metrol Springs does not store your personal card information.
Data Backup
Any personal information stored in a digital format is done so on our secure in-house server. This is backed up on a daily basis, encrypted to AES256 standards and transmitted to a secure data centre in the UK. This data is also replicated and backed up to a secondary secure data centre in the UK for redundancy measures. This process is performed by software using an encryption key that is only known to Metrol Springs. The personal data we store, never leaves the UK. The company we use for data backup is DataStore365, you can find out more about them here: http://www.datastore365.co.uk/
DataStore365 hold active ISO27001 information security accreditations to show their internal processes have been audited.
Access To Your Personal Information
